Numbering Our Days Aright

March 9, 2025

I would like to share this brief article with you: Numbering Our Days Aright - The Catholic Thing

The following lines, taken from this article, resonated with me.

We are presently in the liturgical season of Lent, a time that looks in hope to Easter and Jesus’ risen glory.  This, then, is a time when we take stock of our days.  Are we numbering them aright?
These are also the days when we remember that we will die, for we are dust and to dust we will return.

I look inward and take stock of my days.  I am ashamed, and heartbroken when I see the ways and number of times that I have failed in my relationship with our Lord.  The weight of my sins is heavy and my regrets profound.   For I am weak and temptations are many.  My desire is to be that, and that alone, which the Lord has created me to be.  To number my days in accordance with His will.
As we live this Lenten season and as we live the days of our mortal life, preparing for our individual particular judgement, I beseech the Lord:

“Grant me strength.  The strength to overcome temptation.
Grant me forgiveness. Forgiveness for those times past, present and to come where I have failed to do so”.

I also ask for your prayers.
