Benedictine Oblation
In late 2022 I began a journey of discernment in becoming a Benedictine Oblate. Then in September of 2023 I took the step of entering the Oblate Novitiate in association with Holy Cross Monastery. Following a year as a Novice, this coming Saturday September 21, 2024 as part of Mass at the monastery, under the authority of Fr. Peter Funk, OSB. and witnessed by Br. Michael Gallagher, OSB. and members of the monastery, I will make my Final Oblation. At this time, I will take on the Oblate name of Boniface, which means “doer of good”. I have chosen this name in deference to St. Boniface and my mother’s sir name. Saint Boniface is known as the Apostle of Germany.

Patron Saint of Great Germania
I ask for your prayers and thoughts.
Saint Boniface, you heard God calling you as a youth and responded with zeal. You continued to respond to His will for the rest of your life. Through that holy obedience and service, the gift of eternal salvation was bestowed upon many. Please pray for me, that I may have the courage and zeal that you had, so that I will never hesitate to say “Yes” to the will of God.
Saint Boniface and companions, pray for me.
Jesus, I trust in You.
